ESA provides additional earth observation data of GMES free of charge

With the "GMES Space Component Programme" (GSC) the the European Space Agency ESA provides free access to space-based earth observation data.

After making their archival data from the U.S. Landsat Earth observation satellites freely available already in the last year, now the records CORE_001 CORE_008 are available against recognition of license terms. The data come from the IRS-P6 satellite, Spot-5 and FORMOSAT-2. Missing records to cover Europe are to be completed in the next two years. All relevant information about the data, for data access as well as monthly updates on the status of records that are still under construction, can be found on the ESA website http://gmesdata.esa.int/web/gsc/home.
